Any pages generated by page promoter can be uploaded onto remote FTP server using FTP Uploader module.

FTP Uploader

To set up FTP Uploader enter the following information:

  • FTP Host - FTP server hostname
  • FTP Port - FTP server port (usually 25)
  • FTP User Name - most FTP servers require authentication. Enter your username here. Some servers may require your valid e-mail address instead.
  • FTP Password - associated with your username password. If not required, leave blank.

After configuring these settings click Connect to FTP serverConnect to establish the connection. You can extract FTP settings from any of your profile settings by clicking Populate FTP settings from projectsPopulate from Projects and selecting the profile.

Select the following check boxes if required:

  • Always overwrite - files or folders with same names will be replaced when uploading onto FTP server
  • Binary - select this check box if you are going to upload non-textual files (graphics, multimedia, etc)
  • Passive - if you are working behind a firewall, you should set the program to work in passive FTP mode

There are two panes below - source pane (left) and target pane (right). In the source pane (on the left) select files and folders for uploading. You can work both with files on your local computer and via local area network (provided the folders are shared). Select the drive letter from the combo-box. Below you will see the list of folders on this drive. In the lowermost window the list of files in the selected folder will be displayed.

The target pane becomes active once FTP connection is established. In the uppermost window you will see the path from the FTP root directory to the opened folder. To open root folder click Go to root folder. In the middle window you will see the list of folders on your FTP server. If you select one of the folders, in the lower window you will see the list of files in the selected FTP folder.

To upload files from the opened folder onto the folder on FTP server, click Upload all files. You can upload both files and folders by dragging them and dropping into the target window. Remember: you can drag and drop files and folders only into the corresponding window. You cannot drop files into the folders window and vice versa.

To create a folder on your FTP server click Create dorectoryCreate Dir and enter the name of the folder. To delete a folder or folders, select them and click Delete directoryDelete Dir. To delete a file or files, select them and click Delete selected filesDelete file(s). To select multiple folders click them holding Ctrl.
