Reports are generated with the help of a 3-steps Reports Wizard.

  1. On the first step select the type of report to be generated:

    • Spider Visits Report - displays information bout every spider visit to your site (name of the spider, pages visited, and number of visits to this page)
    • Indexed Pages Report - displays information about pages, which were indexed by spiders.
    • Date Report - displays information about spider visits for particular dates
    • Keyphrase Popularity Report - displays information about keyphrases by which your site was found in the search engine
    • Search Engines and Resources Report
    • Resources and Keyphrases Report
    • Dynamic Visits Report - displays information about the dynamic changes in spider visits sorted by date. Every spider is marked by its own color
  2. On the second step you must select the fields to be included into reports. You can specify the following values for reports:

    • Report name - any text, under which your report will be saved
    • Group by - select type of information to group report by
  3. On the third step you must select the following parameters for your report:

    • Report Style. There are three styles for reports: default (NPL color gamma), black-and-white, and monochrome. The last two are best for printing.
    • Use header - if this check box is selected you can select to use either program default header or create your own customized header

As an example we will have a look at the following task. You need to print a repot with the information about the spider's request on all pages in general during the August, 2003.

Run Report Wizard. First you select the type of the report. For the above given task it is Spider Visit Report. During the second step you need to configure report settings. To get the desired result you need to do the following:

  • Report Name - user can enter any text in this field, which will be used as the heading for this particular report.
  • Group By - in this field, since there is no need to define the pages visited by spiders, select Day.
  • Date Period - you can select Day, Month or Year.
  • Enable date limit - select.
  • Initial date - select date.
  • Final date - select date.
  • Table title, Main node title, Sub node title - enter any.

User may select to include any of the following information columns into the report: Number, Allow Request, DisAllow Request. In the text fields, which are next to check boxes you may define your own headings for the appropriate columns.
Summary column - disable.

If needed, you can save these settings as a profile.

After that we go over to the next step of the Wizard. Since we created the report for further printing, it would be appropriate to select monochrome style for the report. Whether to use header/footer or not, is up to you, with this function enabled the report looks more elegant, though. Press Finish, and the report will be generated.

Now open it in a browser window, and use browser's Print options to print the report.
