If your local area network uses a Proxy Server to access the Internet, you may have to configure Link Utility to use it. Proxy servers are typically required on local area networks in offices. Link Utility supports most standard proxy servers. To enable proxy server support in the software, click Options in the Tools menu, then select the HTTP proxy tab.

For the Host field, enter the hostname of your local area network proxy server.

For the Port field, enter the port number (usually 80, 8080 or 3128) used by your local area network proxy server. You can import your proxy settings (Host and Port) from Internet Explorer, if it is configured to browse Internet.

If your proxy server requires authentication, enter your user name and the associated password in the next field.

Note: Most proxy servers do not require user name/password authentication.

For most users the default settings will work without change.

If you are not certain of the proxy server settings for your network, please consult your network administrator. Proxy servers are most commonly found on office networks and not in homes.
